About Anime Picker

Anime Picker started from a familiar problem: opening a streaming app, scrolling for twenty minutes, and closing it having watched nothing. Not because the options were bad — because there were too many of them, with no way to narrow down to what actually fit the mood.

Most "best anime" lists solve this badly. They're static, dump every title into one undated pile, and rarely let you filter for the thing that actually matters in the moment — a genre, a release year, how much time you actually have. So we built the opposite: a shelf you can filter by genre and year, and a wheel you can spin when filtering narrows things down but doesn't finish the job.

What we're building

Anime Picker is two tools in one. The discover shelf lets you filter anime recommendations by genre — including romance, BL, and historical Chinese donghua, which general lists tend to underserve — and by release year, from classics through 2026. The picker wheel takes whatever you've filtered down to and picks one at random, for the nights when every remaining option would make you happy and you just need something to break the tie.

What we're not

Anime Picker isn't a streaming service, and it isn't affiliated with any studio, publisher, or platform. We don't host video. We're a recommendation and decision layer that sits in front of wherever you actually watch, pointing you at something worth starting.

No accounts, no clutter

There's no sign-up, no login, and no paywall. Filter, spin, watch. If that ever changes, it'll be because it makes the tool better for you — not because we're chasing your data. See theprivacy policyfor specifics on what little the site does store.

That's the pitch. Go filter the shelf by genre and year, or spin the wheel and let it decide.
